Biomechanical
treatment both for injury resolution and injury prevention.
Neuromusculosketal balance is essential for the high stress
activities of weight training and aerobic activities. Using
chiropractic methods to achieve the necessary balance between
nerves, muscles, and bones can prevent many overuse injuries,
and aid in the resolution and rehabilitation of inevitable
injuries that do occur in sport or in life.
Evaluation
and Diagnosis will include: Testing of structural and postural
muscles to determine what imbalances, if any are present.
These tests are biodynamic kinesiological muscle challenge
and will reveal previously undiagnosed weakness and hypertonisity,
both a cause of future breakdown.
Similarly,
vertebral challenge will reveal subtle misalignment and dysfunction
of the spinal vertebrae, a cause of further neuromuscular
dysfunction, and potential injury. The proper function of
the nerve root and neuromuscular activity down line are critical
for optimum performance.
Additionally,
traditional orthopedic, neurological will be performed. If
needed, x-ray and advanced imaging such as CT or MRI can be
utilized.
Treatment
models include:
- The
removal of inter-vertebral dysfunction through very specific
chiropractic adjustment.
- Balancing
of muscular activity through utilizing the muscle spindle
cell (trigger point) and golgi tendon structures.
- Exercise
instruction.
- Nutritional
support to aid healing, and to facilitate recovery from
the high stress load of strenuous exercise. And to aid in
tissue healing.
